WE ARE GENERATION ‘Z’

I predict Generation ‘Z’…will be less emotional, more sensitive, unresponsive to the ‘small things in life’, will not comprehend time as a factor in completing a task, will lose the ability to express through word, (handwritten word that is..),  learning pattern will take an entirely new form, their construct of knowledge and it’s reality will be questioned, will not trust the media as previous generations have, they will have huge concern for the environment, they will dress with influence from the 60’s and 50’s, will have a skewed view of the history of generation ‘Y’, will have less faith in their governments, will have higher regard for their peers, will trust those that agree with them quicker than those who disagree, will be less likely to appreciate the idea of ‘devil’s advocate’, will live the reality of ‘long-tail theory’, will live in a world, impossible to survive undetected, will communicate in abbreviated terms, will accept plastic surgery as normal,  will eat organically, will have higher levels of dementia related illnesses at younger ages, will not comprehend distance as space between two places but as money, will be made into software, will keep diaries instead of blogs, will forget what LOL stands for, will not have long lasting cultural trends, will live in a sphere.

About:

An appreciation of digital media, art & technology and an outlet to publish work. My background has been in design, working mainly in graphic design and layout. I have been layout and design editor and image editor for magazines previously. Recently I have been pursuing the photographic route. I have just started an MA in Art in the Digital World in NCAD. My proposal is loosely based around the social implications of the web 2.0 generation and comparing the real -vs- the unreal. Recent reading has brought me to look closely at generation 'Y'. I would like you to keep this in mind when looking at my recent photographs, designs and links.
